Sandhill Cranes

Sandhill Cranes, 500,000 strong, fly into the Platte River in Nebraska during their annual spring migration. Cranes are the oldest living birds on the planet dating back 10,000 years. The Platte River Valley is the most important stopover on the migration. The river provides a perfect spot to rest and food is abundant in the nearby fields.
