Hatch to Release
One Whooping Crane looks to the other over a piece of food. Nine Whooping Cranes were raised by a costumed aviculturist so that there will be no human imprint during the Direct Autumn Release program. The program raises the chicks from hatch until their release in the fall in an reintroduction effort to increase the numbers of the rare Whooping Crane.
